Swiss Valley Furniture - Long Lasting

When you buy solid wooden furniture, probably the first thing you will notice is that it is very heavy compared to other furniture pieces. In the world of furniture, however, that additional weight means higher quality. Here are some of the key benefits that solid hardwood provides.

Low Maintenance

When kept dry, hardwood furniture requires minimal maintenance to keep looking and performing great. To get rid of fingerprints or dust, simply wipe the surface with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth. There’s rarely a need for specialty cleaners, though we recommend Guardsman products if you feel this is necessary.

Durability

Solid wooden furniture is built to last for generations. This is partly due to the hardwood itself, as well as our finishing process. We apply three finishing coats to our furniture, the last of which is a clear catalyzed conversion varnish topcoat. This helps the topcoat cure quickly to provide a durable finish that resists damage from condensation, food products, and more.

Doesn’t Warp

While you should keep hardwood furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources such as hot air vents, it is still  much less prone to cracking, splitting, or warping than other materials. This issue is relatively common with veneer furniture and cheap imports, causing them to decline in appearance and potentially become unstable relatively quickly.

At Swiss Valley Furniture, we only use high-quality hardwood for our furniture products. This ensures that your custom piece doesn’t just look great — it will truly stand the test of time. Come visit our showroom today to learn more about our solid wooden furniture selection.
